If only we’re brave enough to be it.” It is with this mentality that Alverno Heights break into the school year, positive, joyful, inspired and filled with light. For there is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it. The last two lines of her invigorating and empowering poem reads, “When day comes we step out of the shade, aflame and unafraid, the new dawn blooms as we free it. Alverno Heights Academy school year 2021-22 theme is “Be Brave Enough to be the Light!” Inspired by poet Amanda Gorman’s piece “The Hill We Climb”, recited at this past year’s Inauguration, and the school know this is the perfect theme for this year.
